Shops & Vendors

Every town is stocked with traders — from the Medical Store to the back-alley Illegal Dealer. Here's who sells what, what it costs, and where to take your loot when you want to cash out.

How Shopping Works

Shops run on carried cash — the notes in your inventory, not your bank balance. Keep some on you before a supply run.

Each kind of store is duplicated across the towns (Livingstone, Belksville, South Outpost, WoodMount and Suntown), so you're rarely far from one. Livingstone is the main hub and has the densest cluster of vendors, the vehicle dealership and an ATM.

The Stores

The traders you'll actually use, by name:

  • Equipment Store — tools, food and basic gear; the de-facto general store for everyday kit.
  • Medical Store — bandages, meds and food.
  • IKEA — the construction store. Sells workbenches and furniture, and it's only in Livingstone.
  • Clothing Store — apparel, diving gear, and where you sell leather & cloth batches.
  • Weapons Dealer — legal weapons and the hunting bow.
  • Illegal Dealer — the black market. Sells raid explosives, and buys your drugs and illegal goods.
  • Fishing Store — rods, diving kit and low-grade fuel.
  • Pawn Shop — the metal detector, shovels and odds and ends.
  • Farmer — buys crops and fertilizer; sells farming tools.
  • Horse Seller — horses (which produce fertilizer).
  • Vehicle Parts & the Vehicle / Boat Dealership — fuel, parts and the cars and boats themselves.
  • Casino — for when you feel lucky.
Two things people get wrongThere is no "Farmers' Market" — the trader is just called the Farmer. And the Hunting Grounds is a gathering zone, not a shop: you sell your leather and cloth batches ($500 each) at the Clothing Store.
Some gear needs Outpost reputationA few items won't sell to you until you've built up enough Outpost reputation — explosives, for instance, only unlock at 4,500. If a vendor won't hand something over, your rep isn't high enough yet; keep trading and it'll open up. See Outpost Reputation.

Selling Your Loot

To cash out gathered goods, take them to the matching vendor and use its sell tab — the same window you buy from has a tab for selling back. Leather and cloth go to the Clothing Store, crops go to the Farmer, drugs and illegal goods go to the Illegal Dealer, and so on.

Own the store, keep the full cutSales through a vendor are taxed. But if you own a store-front property, you keep the full cut with no tax on what you sell — a real edge for anyone moving a lot of goods.

Note that the Relics you sell here are the processed version — raw Dirty Relics have to be run through a recycler first (full walkthrough on the Crime page).

Vehicles & Boats

Cars and boats are bought with your bank balance at the dealership. You can rent instead of buy — rent costs 25% of the purchase price. Police and VIP get a 15–20% discount.
