How Jobs Work
Open the Jobs Department app on your phone — or press USE on the Jobs Department NPC in person — and pick a career. There are six active jobs, and you can only hold one at a time.
Wages are multiplied by a payout booster (roughly ×2 by default, and higher with VIP), so a job pays out a good deal more than the raw task value suggests.
Getting Paid
Every job follows the same loop: finish the task in the marked area out in the world, then return to the Jobs Department to hand it in. Handing in is mandatory — nothing pays until you do.
You can also post your own tasks for other players to complete. It costs money up front (and is taxed), and whoever does the work is paid in physical cash.
The Six Jobs
Each career feeds a different part of the economy. The gathering jobs (Hunter, Miner, Lumberjack, Delivery) supply the crafting chains.
| Job | What it yields | Unlocks by level |
|---|---|---|
| Hunter | Hunt at the Hunting Grounds for leather & cloth | Tip: the Tiptoe skill stops animals attacking first |
| Miner | Work the mining sites for stone & ore — ore feeds the smelting chain | Coal Level 10 · Copper Level 15 · Titanium Ore Level 30 |
| Lumberjack | Work the logging camps for logs | Pine Level 5 · Birch Level 10 · Oak Level 15 |
| Taxi | Cash for ferrying passengers around the map | — |
| Delivery | Cash, plus Diesel — the fuel a recycler needs to run | Diesel from Level 5 |
| Police | An earnable role — no tasks; income from arrests & patrols | Needs 10 hrs + $10k — see Police |
XP, Levels & Rewards
Every task you finish grants XP toward a 30-level curve. Levelling up unlocks better harvest tiers (the higher-value materials in the table above) and hands out reward kits, backpacks and loot crates at set milestones. Claim those rewards from the jobs menu.
The Police career is the odd one out — it has no tasks or harvest tiers. It's a role with its own rank ladder, and its income comes from arrests, checkpoints, patrols and heists. Read all about it on the Police & Prison page.
Switching Jobs
- There's a 5-minute cooldown between job swaps, so choose deliberately.
- Your job level and rewards are saved per career — switching back later doesn't wipe your progress.
